In the first Horus Heresy novel, Dan Abnett introduced the Stormbird. Unfortunately, beyond some vague descriptions that vary wildly between the multiple authors of the series, no-one knows what the Stormbird looks like. There's no art and definitely no minatures of it.
So, here's my concept of it based on scaling up the Thunderhawk and adding a few features of larger Imperial craft.
One forum post out there (probably Warseer) does claim that Dan Abnett himself said it looks like the Naboo ship from Phantom Menace but more like it was built by the Imperium. So perhaps I might have room to rejig the sleeker look into it, but it's conflictingly described as sleeker yet much less sleek than the Thunderhawk. I'm also quite biased by the ideas some local GW employees were messing around with about a year ago that involved sizing up a Thunderhawk and adding more guns.
I'm basically taking the idea from the silhouettes of the flyers in this picture: [link] They're meant to be Thunderhawks but the pointed nose and swooped wings just got me thinking about this sort of shape.
I always thought that the 40k idea of mankind being technologically recessive was a good one, there's only so far you can go with technology before you start going backwards.
I think the naboo craft would best sum up how I thought the Stormbird looked, the same overall shape as the thunderhawk, but with curved plates of armour.

I'm sure something is supposed to go here...
This looks as though it could just be an epic scale thunderhawk with the prow from a battlefleet gothinc kit on it.
Looks cool though.
